One of the most important elements of an event is the entertainment. The question is, what’s the right type of entertainment for you?

To figure that out, there are a few things you need to consider.

First, how big is your venue? If you have limited space then a DJ may work better for your floorplan. If you’re in a big ballroom that’s decked out in stunning décor then a band can complete that look.

A high quality band can have a powerful impact on your event. Not only will they sound great but they’ll put on an impressive show.

A good band will play a mix of classic and current music. They’ll perform some specific songs (per your request) and they’ll fill in the rest of their playlist by reading the crowd.

That being said, there are some events that require a strict list of songs to be played throughout the night. If that’s the case, then a DJ is usually the best option. DJs are great for Bar Mitzvahs and proms since young audiences tend to have a lot of special requests. They’re also extremely popular with cultural events that play specific ethnic music.

The last thing to consider, of course, is cost. DJs are naturally less expensive than bands because there are fewer people involved. When you hire a band there’s usually seven or eight professional musicians who come and perform the night away. However, if your budget is tight and you can’t afford a really great band then a phenomenal DJ would be the perfect match.

In the end, no two events are ever the same. When planning, you have to consider your options and choose what’s best for that particular celebration. Regardless of whether you end up with a DJ or a band, as long as you’re working with a reputable entertainment company, then you and your guests will have a blast!
