It was love at first listen for bride-to-be Kendra, who first heard Night Shift perform at a friend’s Nantucket wedding a few years back. Guests rocked the night away to a mix of classics that kept the party rolling. Cut to lead singer, Jermaine, twirling Kendra around the dance floor while not missing a note of “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” by the Temptations, and it’s easy to see why Kendra knew she had to have Night Shift’s signature groove when it came time for her own wedding.

Fast forward a few years. Kendra is happily engaged to the love of her life, Conor, and is so committed to having Night Shift perform at her reception that she plans her wedding date around the band’s availability. Working closely with the Night Shift Entertainment team, her dream celebration is beginning to take shape. All the details were signed, sealed…

And then came the unexpected.

2020 has been a difficult year for everyone, and COVID-19 has caused many plans to change. Rather than postponing their nuptials, Kendra and Conor ultimately opted to downsize their wedding into a small family affair in Boston’s Historic North End, which, unfortunately, meant letting go of her plans with Night Shift.

We understand that especially right now, there are many things beyond our control. Even when the world isn’t totally upside-down, unexpected developments can happen in any planning situation. So, what can you expect from Night Shift Entertainment when things don’t go as planned?

1. Responsiveness.

Whether you’re reaching out for your initial consultation or you’ve been in contact with us for a while, you’ll never have to wait long for a reply. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have even the smallest question or concern about your event. We’re always here to talk through options or to help find solutions, and you can typically expect a response in under 24 hours.

2. Clear and transparent communication.

We support you through your entertainment planning process every step of the way, which means making sure that we’re all on the same page. We’re up front about costs, space and equipment requirements, and what you can expect from our ensembles. We value transparency from our clients as well. If your plans change, or if you need to cancel your booking, let us know as soon as possible. We’ll work with you to find solutions with honesty and respect for both you and our musicians.

3. We’ll give you time to make important decisions.

We know that you have a lot on your mind while planning your event. While we move fast to bring together all the details, we give our clients the time they need to make important decisions regarding our services. If you’re weighing your options in the face of unexpected developments, let us know your thoughts. We’ll give you the space you need to think things through and will be here for you whatever you decide.

4. Knowledge of the industry.

Sometimes when things don’t go as planned, all you need is a slight adjustment. We can call upon our 25 years of experience in the industry to help make modifications to your booking that best suit you and your changing circumstances. However, if you do have to cancel completely, we know it’s nothing personal. We can even recommend some additional vendors or solutions that might be a better fit for your situation. We want your event to be perfect for you, whatever that happens to look like.

5. A people-centric approach to business.

Night Shift Entertainment is here for you in good times and in bad, and our commitment to providing you excellent customer service never stops. We care about your event (which, for weddings especially, can be once in a lifetime), and more importantly we care about the people at the heart of the celebration. We build relationships with our customers that go beyond a simple business transaction; we strive to make friends (and fans) for life.

So, while we’re sad we didn’t get to perform for Kendra and Conor on their big day, we wish them all the best in their future together.
